 "In Summer 2000, the British poet and performance artist Caroline Bergvall, working together with the Irish Composer Ciaran Maher recorded a piece titled "Via". Patiently and equably, she reads forty seven English translations of the famous opening tercet of Dante Alighieri's Inferno (1321) [...] These passages appear alphabetically, from "Along" to "When" and each is followed by a terse but sufficient indication of its source, the last name of the translator and the year of publication.
